Node Crown: Alpha
What is Node Crown?
Node Crown is a roguelite focused on building a node-based kingdom. Quick runs designed for replayability, deep synergies, hundreds of nodes, and builds that make every run unique - you will find it here! Have fun!

What is Node Crown: Alpha?
I extracted the core mechanic into a simpler roguelike version of the game. It is a finished experience on it's own, so you can treat it as a smaller, "prologue" version of the Node Crown full release :)
It can be played on both: web browser or mobile (also web browser). Imho it is much better to play with a mouse.
My goal right now is to gather feedback about the game and make the game the best as I can before I move to the next stages of development.
Full version of the game will be available on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4326740/Node_Crown/
Make sure to WISHLIST it if you like what you see here!
In the full version you can expect metaprogression, more nodes, more interesting mechanics, and more challenges :)
How to play the game?
There is a small in-game tutorial that should be efficient (let me know if it is not), but just in case:
- your goal is to finish 15 levels,
- each level requires to earn enough money in limited time,
- every few seconds, you can place 1 of 3 random nodes,
- nodes earn money (amount is displayed in their top-left corner),
- they earn money only when they are triggered,
- some of the nodes requires other nodes to trigger them directly or to be fed with a specific resource produced by other nodes,
- nodes affects each other - hover over (or click on mobile) the node to show more info,
- they can buff but also destroy other nodes,
- after each level, there is 1 of 3 super-nodes to choose from,
- instead of placing a node, you can also reroll or drop "your hand",
- you can freely move already placed nodes,
- start dragging on the empty space to select more than one (or just grab one node)
Controls
- LMB (Left Mouse Button) or Touch on mobile - standard button - select, drag and drop, etc
- start dragging on empty space to select more nodes (or just grab one node)
- RMB/MMB or WASD or Pinch on mobile - move camera
- Mouse Scroll or Pinch Zoom on mobile - zoom in/out camera
Known Issues
I am not sure if the issue is only on my machine, but the game performance is worse on Firefox compared to chromium-based web browsers (like Chrome, Edge). Need more info how it works on other machines.
Feedback
I will be very glad for your feedback here or on my Discord server:
https://discord.com/invite/sfgr7YCv2z
The more feedback I get the better! I am commited to make Node Crown the best as I can, and your input helps a lot to achieve that!
All of the discovered issues/suggestions/improvements will be tracked on a separate channel on my Discord server. It is public, so anyone can see what I am working on :)
Thank you in advance!
Have a nice day and have fun!

Needs endless, needs a merge system of some sort some units get over kill and eventually start lag.
Great game Love to see more and a lot of optimizations.
Yeah, I will have to look at performance. Have some ideas on how to fix it. Thanks for reporting!
Will love to try it again then!!!
unit bar slides around and can just completly disappear...
fantastic game, best game I've seen itchio in a while. very replayable.
Thank you!
The concept of what a roguelike is has sure watered out. It's a run-based puzzle game, not a roguelike.
Can’t wait for Q3 now! Love it so far
I am glad to hear that! Thanks!
Feel free to share feedback on what you like/what not, and what you would like to see more of in the full release! :)
Nice game! Very entertaining :)
Thanks! :)
